Helicopter

For this little boy, tonight was one of those nights that was at the top of his list. Trains, cars, planes, you name it, he loves it. N carries around little helicopters and train parts everywhere we go. We made a trip to see the neighbor's grankid sing a solo for the Christmas tree lighting and while there we were able to get a little one-on-one time with the ems helicopter. We have seen them fly over our house and even sitting on the helipad but never close enough to really check it out. N jumped right in the seat, grinning from ear to ear, but M stood hanging onto my leg until the very last minute when we said we were leaving, which was the time she decided to hop aboard. The pilot in the flight suit showed the kids around, let them sit in the captain's chair and basically inspect everything right down to the helmets. We also had a sighting of the jolly 'ol guy but neither one of the kids wanted to spend any time with him because Donner and Blitzen had also made the trip. We saw a Santa while in the mall today and all N asked was, "reindeer?!?" Like, where does he have them stashed and why can't I see them? Now, as you may imagine, M was very hands-off, sat back and just watched, really wanting to be held while watching. Nolan, on the other hand, was down in the reindeer's face, sticking his hand through the fence, grabbing at his antlers and pulling, shouting at it saying "wayne-deer" while the ate his feed. I only stepped back for 2 seconds to snap a few pics and this is what happened. He has not learned that you don't touch animals while they are eating!!! So, he may have learned that a little tonight, but whether it stuck, I doubt it. In case you are wondering, the reindeer seemed not the least bit interested that my 2 yr old had a strong-hold of his left antler and was pulling it down.

Thanks Mom!

The scarves are great! I must say, I am still impressed with your skills. M was so excited to wear the scarf you knitted her and she was equally excited that we would match! They kept us nice a toasty for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony. I know this may come as a newsflash but we will probably just enlist you to make scarves for us. We went to eat afterwards and it became a weapon for N, whacking everyone (mainly Daddy) with M's at the table!!!
