She survived!

Who said laughing gas makes you laugh? All Malynn did today was cry, cry, cry. She received a little gas to help her get through a cavity filling and she cried the entire procedure. I asked her later if she remembers it and she said no but it was terrible as a Mom to see her screaming the entire procedure. But, here is her picture after we got home to show that she is ok but her tongue was asleep.

Silly Shadows

N is fascinated with his shadow lately and M is enjoying hers, too. Nolan started to recognize he had a shadow on the mornings we take M to dance class because it is large and in front of him while he walks. This past week, he played and played while looking down at the ground to watch the shadow move. So, we made a point to play and see what our shadow does as we run, dance, etc. Here are a few pics. There were plenty of smiles & giggles. I could not get a picture of them looking up because they were consumed with watching the shadow.

Church carnival

This was by far my favorite costume (other than my own 2 sweet kids) and I just had to share because it made me smile every time I saw this boy. I am still wondering how it kept its rather large sumo shape...

Same song, second verse... N stripped out of his mickey hat before we had been there 10 minutes. He could care less that he had candy in his bucket. He was just concerned about keeping his supply coming after he had finished with one.

My sweet Minnie Mouse was very concerned about getting her white gloves dirty. (sounds like me. As a kid, I would stand by the teacher at recess so not to sweat too much and get all dirty!!! Sad, I know... ) After a while she had sized the place up and kicked off her gloves and shoes for 1 of 6 bounce houses that had a slide.

Our first Halloween party was a real success. Our neighbor's had a dress-up party this morning and the kids were so excited. M woke up bright and early asking if it was time to get dressed up. They were ready 1 hr early and constantly asking if it was time yet. Needless to say, as soon as we got there costume pieces were being thrown off in every direction. There is a group picture that we took of all the kids at the end of the party but as you can see N is not happy about having to get back into his costume and stop playing for a while. He refused to put his Mickey ears back on. The kids received cupcakes as their party favor and if you have never seen one you are surely missing out. They are made at and each one comes in their own special pink box.

My sweet Pumpkin feet!

Our kids are growing up so fast I just had to capture their tiny feet on a plate to celebrate our sweet little pumpkins every year to come. The kids had so much fun painting their feet bright orange for the adventure. I enjoy painting but now it is much harder to keep up the habit since there is not anywhere around Tyler that will fire my pottery. So, I get an excuse to keep visiting the sweet little lady that fires my pottery in Shreveport.

Just had to let everyone know how proud we are of Mallory (in the green). It is hard to believe that I used to babysit her but she is all grown up and now on the homecoming court at good ole LA Tech. (Go Dawgs!) Congrats, Mallory.

It's punkin patch time...

We visited our first pumpkin patch in Tyler today. The kids had a blast and the adults did, too. Some of the activities included chasing bunnies and goats, petting dogs, riding on a hayride, chasing kids, pretending to drive numerous tractors, and visiting the pumpkin patch and did I mention chasing kids. Unfortunately, snapping pictures of both kids together is like trying to get a pile of fire ants to stand still after you have kicked their pile. Impossible! Here are a few highlights.

Park

We have been on a hunt to find great parks for the kids to play. They seem to be hidden in great places all over town and slowly we are finding out about them. This is by far a favorite because of all the great slides. The kids had a great time sliding and just watching other kids. The other picture is of the beautiful sky that was at the park while we were there. For most of you that know me, you know that I love landscapes and can never resist taking pictures of God's beautiful creation, but it may drive my husband crazy because I will have a million pictures with nobody in them. Pumpkins

We will carve pumpkins closer to Halloween but for now we found these great pumpkin face pieces, kind of like Mr. Potato head for your pumpkin. The kids loved them and played with them for hours. Pumpkin patch photos will follow...

Here we only got one rule, never ever let it cool!!!

If you do not know that line it the is a line from the Polar Express movie about hot chocolate. The Polar Express is N's favorite movie and the kids are excited because we are going to ride the train this winter in Rusk. I have been searching for N his own robe and we found one this week so the kids could not resist wearing them while watching the movie. We made hot chocolate and let them drink some which they immediately decided it was a favorite. The primary goal of both my children was to make a mustache and they were successful but I forgot to get pictures. Here they are in their debut robes...

We found some excitement in Tyler yesterday! The Clydesdale horses were in town for the Rose Parade events so we went on an outing to see them. The kids had a blast riding the old stage coach and seeing those huge horses up close and personal. They really are beautiful animals. I had to get in the picture with them because the horse kept sneezing and it scared them.
