Date Night with B & Rachel

There are not enough words to say how much M and N love their aunt and uncle. B & Rachel took M out on a date night for her birthday while N and I spent some quailty time with Carter. She was so excited. The highlights were a trip to Toys R Us to select her very own present and then a trip to Baskin Robbins for a chocolate ice cream cone. In her book it does not get any better than that! She chose a cinderella tea set, gum ball machine and a set of makeup that is fit for a teenage rock star for 1 year. She had eyeshadow on her forehead and lipstick everywhere. But, here is a picture of what was left of the ice cream cone that I just thought was priceless. Thanks Uncle B & Rachel! You are the best!

Chuck E Cheese

This was the best birthday party ever for M and for her Mommy simply because we both just showed up and had a great time while a sweet girl named Michelle did all the work! It was fabulous. Here are some of the photos from the party.

Fall is here...

It is always exciting to hunt, no matter what the hunt is about. For Men, it is deer this time of year, but for kids it is about the little things. Easter eggs are the best but at our house we have found a new item to hunt for fall... acorns. The poor squirrels around our house are devestated because there are two kids on the look out at all times for the rather large nut. After the storm there were thousands scattered on the ground and it was a hay day for M and N. Our neighbors had a tree cut down and so then there were more! Happy Fall everyone.

Lets get going and fix it right...

During our move a chair that was Chris' grandmothers was damaged. Chris fixed it better than new but he had a little helper right there in the thick of things... N is a big fan of the "fix it men" aka Bob the Builder and Handy Manny...

We have a 4yr old today!

I cannot believe that our baby girl turns 4 today. I already cried a few tears just thinking about how independent she has become. M was so excited to get her presents this morning from Mommy, Daddy & N. She woke up with the chickens saying that she really needed to open her presents. She has been asking for a doll cake so I got inspired last night after watching the food network and began the challenge. After a trip to Wal-mart for the Cinderella barbie we were in business. I think after giving it the ol' college try it turned out just fine, at least M loves it and that is all that matters. The things we will do just to see our children smile. The birthday girl also has another favorite, the movie Enchanted, so we managed to find the barbie dolls for the princess Giselle and the prince. N has taken a liking to the prince and keeps calling it the Dada doll. We look forward to seeing all of our family and friends this weekend!

Our little dancer

Today was M's first day of dance and to say she was excited was an understatement. She has been asking for months when she is going to get to go to dance and today was the big day. She woke up early and was doing what she thought were great jumps, spins and twirls. The class was a hoot to watch and they did things called a penguin walk for tap and the Cinderella necklace which was M's favorite (basically holding hands in a circle). She did not want to get out of her dance clothes after class and she is asking when she can go back... As a Mom it just melted my heart to see all of that excitement and pink stuff running around in organized chaos. The director is a christian and she led the girls in a prayer at the end of the lesson which made me want to cry sweet tears. It was precious.
