Swimming fun

We have spent most of last week and will spend the coming week in swimming lessons. The kids are taking from a very kind lady who has 5 children and 18 grandchildren, named Mrs. Anna. She dresses in black shorts, black shirt, and black hat for every lesson but she has the most beautiful white hair and fair skin. The kids just love her and they are learning a lot. M is very hesitant about going under water and spent 15 minutes of a 30 minute lesson crying until we realized she was afraid Mrs. Anna was going to send her underwater. This is the same child that sees kids jumping off the diving board and would like to run over and try it... N is brave and knows no fear which is actually scary for me. He takes off from the shallow end crawling into the pool and when it gets too high to crawl he stands and goes until it is over his head at which time he uses his hands to walk down the wall to the steps just to get out and do it over and over again. He loves going underwater and Mrs. Anna says he'll be swimming by next summer. So, we have spent much of our time here in swimming pools and in our little backyard pool. Our new found joy is goggles but we do not like to go under water?!? They are just a cute fashion accessory if you swim, I guess, and we must at least look the part.

Blowing out candles!!!

It is the desire of my children to celebrate a birthday every day. Last week, M asked me when was Maverick's birthday. I answered her in May and she said with a face of unbelief, "well, he did not get a cake! We should make him one." So, I will attempt to make a doll cake in preparation for the Cinderella doll cake M is asking for for her birthday and we will call it Mav's b-day cake. Doesn't every dog dream of having a doll cake? Anyway, the point being, Poppa came for a visit and we had to make him a cake. The kids had a great time blowing out candles because that it the best part besides the sweet icing... Happy Birthday Poppa. (M thinks he is 3 yrs old, by the way!)

French Peas

We received this flower arrangement from a family friend, Janet, and it came from a place called "French Peas". I thought it was fitting since I just cooked my first batch of purple hull peas recently. It is adorable and is just my style. I will definitely have to visit this place as I hear they sell antiques, too.

We just love the house warming gift and thought that you might like to see them at the front door. The planters look great and we were thrilled to receive them.

Gibby came for a visit

We have had a busy week. JoAnn (a.k.a. Gibby) came for a visit for a few days. We met up with Aunt Nancy (a.k.a. Aunt Antsy) and a family friend Mrs. Weaver for lunch at the infamous Potpourri House. It was delicious and I will go back just for the strawberry vinaigrette dressing! Yum, Yum! Then we were invited to the Tennis & Swim club by one of Chris' co-workers. The kids had a blast and we were all worn out. Chris was able to swing his racket, which has not seen the light of day in a few years, and we signed the kids up for swimming lessons for the next 2 weeks which we are thrilled about. After lessons are over you may stay and swim as long as you like. We adjusted the water sprinklers and M thought that this was the greatest thing since sliced bread. She ran through the yard squealing at the top of her lungs, saying, "Mommy this is like a raining pool!" N was so scared because the sprinkler came on and shot him kind of forcefully in the rear and he would not let me put him down again.

Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated the day with a great visit from Pa, CC & Mawmaw. It was such a great day and the kids and I were thrilled that they could come over for the day. It would have been so quiet without them. I was as excited as the kids were to see them come over. Wishing I could watch fireworks over the Red tonight as there is not even the slightest sound of a firework in our subdivision since they are banned by the home owners association!

The Disney Charter Bus has returned and we have finally moved...

Our little family has been in a complete upheaval of what I consider normal for our family. We are finally moved but certainly not settled. We all love the house and the kids feel as if it is their own indoor playground with tricycles circling the kitchen/dining/living room in a constant chase mode. N just turned 2 last month, which is still hard for me to believe. Each time you ask him to say his name he just replies with, "Me" and his favorite word is "why" for everything. His favorite thing to do is tickle everyone and pretend he is beating what we think are his own set of air drumsticks always saying "boom ba." We do not know where this came from but we always laugh so he keeps doing it...

We also made if safely home in Pa & CC's new RV from Disney. What could have been a disastrous trip with 3 kids all under the age of 3 in a RV for a 16 hr trip turned into a great trip with the entire Couvillion family. M had breakfast with Cinderella and all of the other princesses showed up, too. It was truly a magical moment for one little girl. Every day since being home she has told me that she misses Cinderella and "needs" to go to visit her at the castle very soon. N has a girlfriend, Ariel! We waited in a blistery hot line to meet Ariel for M but we were so shocked to see that Nolan was just as interested in the visit. N was so smitten with Ariel he actually slipped his little hand onto her leg during the picture time and she kissed his forehead and blew him a kiss. He responded with his own kiss blowing and it was really hilarious. We already have a ladies man...

Chris had his first shift in Tyler! Lots of anticipation and I cannot wait to hear how it went...

I am not promising, but just hopeful that I will be a more diligent blogger since my life may begin to resemble something of normalcy.
